Financial Controller – Manufacturing 

Full-time | Permanent

As Financial Controller, you’ll take full ownership of the P&L, driving financial performance and providing actionable insight to support business decisions. Reporting directly to the Director, you’ll play a key role in shaping strategy, improving profitability, and ensuring the business runs efficiently.

The Role This is a hands-on, strategic finance position covering management accounts, forecasting, cost control, and investment planning. You’ll provide accurate, actionable financial information and ensure compliance with all regulations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full ownership of the P&L, ensuring accuracy and insight.
  • Preparing and monitoring the annual budget with department managers.
  • Managing capital investment projects, including profitability studies.
  • Developing and tracking key financial and operational KPIs.
  • Leading budgetary control and monitoring performance against targets.
  • Defining and maintaining standard costs for labour, materials, and overheads.
  • Analysing profitability by customer and product.
  • Producing management accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, financial regulations, and tax requirements.
  • Managing insurance policies and liaising with auditors.
  • Supporting and developing a small finance team.

About You You’re a commercially minded, hands-on finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You enjoy working closely with operational
teams, using data to drive performance, and helping a business succeed.

You’ll ideally have:

  • A degree in Accounting, finance, Economics, or Business Administration.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role.
  • A professional accounting qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent).
  • Strong systems knowledge, ideally with SAP experience.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading or mentoring a team.
