Job Description
Payroll Officer
Blackpool | Full-TimeÂ
Looking for a payroll role where you can take ownership?
This is an opportunity to become the payroll specialist within a friendly HR team.
You’ll manage payroll from start to finish, working closely with HR and Finance to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
This isn’t a role where you’ll process one small part of payroll. You’ll take ownership of the payroll function, build strong relationships across the business and become the trusted person colleagues turn to for payroll support.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Processing monthly and four-weekly payrolls.
- Managing statutory payments, pensions and payroll deductions.
- Maintaining payroll records, including starters, leavers and salary changes.
- Preparing payroll reports and statutory returns.
- Responding to payroll queries.
- Ensuring payroll complies with current legislation.
- Supporting payroll and HR systems, including Time & Attendance.
- Identifying ways to improve payroll processes.
About You
You’ll already have end-to-end payroll experience and be confident managing payroll with minimal supervision.
You’ll have experience of:
- Payroll processing.
- SSP, SMP, SPP and statutory payments.
- PAYE, National Insurance and pensions.
- Payroll legislation and HMRC compliance.
- Payroll systems and Excel.
A CIPP qualification would be an advantage, but isn’t essential. If you’re keen to study towards CIPP, support may be available.
Just as importantly, you’ll be approachable, organised and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
Why Apply?
- Own the payroll function.
- Join a supportive HR team.
- Flexible start and finish times.
- Support towards CIPP qualifications.
- A varied role where your experience will make a real difference.
