Senior Credit Controller

I’m recruiting on behalf of a growing, private equity-backed software business that’s looking to appoint a Senior Credit Controller to join its finance team. This isn’t a standard credit control role. You’ll take ownership of a high-volume ledger while working closely with colleagues across Billing, Sales and Legal to resolve complex issues, improve cash collection and strengthen the overall order-to-cash process. If you enjoy investigating problems, building relationships and making a genuine impact on cash flow, this could be the opportunity you’re looking for.

The Role

As Senior Credit Controller, you’ll:

• Take ownership of a high-volume sales ledger across multiple entities and international customers.
• Lead the recovery of aged debt, identifying and resolving the underlying causes of delayed payments.
• Work closely with Billing, Sales and Legal teams to resolve disputes quickly and efficiently.
• Build strong customer relationships, negotiating payment commitments and resolving issues professionally.
• Manage invoice submissions through customer procurement portals where required.
• Produce aged debt analysis and reporting, identifying trends and opportunities to improve performance.
• Help drive continuous improvements across the order-to-cash process.

About You

You’ll have a proven background in B2B Credit Control, ideally within a software, SaaS or technology-led business, and be confident managing a high-volume ledger. You’ll be an excellent communicator who enjoys solving problems, building relationships and finding practical solutions to complex queries. Experience working across multiple countries, currencies and time zones would be highly advantageous. Exposure to ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP or Oracle would also be beneficial. Most importantly, you’ll be organised, proactive and motivated by delivering results while providing an excellent customer experience.
