Credit Controller

An established and growing business based in Chorley is looking to appoint a highly experienced Credit Controller to take ownership of the full end-to-end credit control process, including billing.

This is a hands-on role that will suit someone confident managing their own ledger, comfortable working autonomously, and experienced in dealing with international stakeholders — particularly across the US and Canada.

The role: You’ll play a key role within the finance function, managing the full credit lifecycle from billing through to cash collection. Working closely with overseas teams, you’ll be trusted to keep processes running smoothly, resolve issues efficiently, and maintain strong working relationships.

Key responsibilities will include:

• End-to-end management of the credit control process
• Raising and managing accurate billing and invoicing
• Proactively chasing outstanding debt and resolving queries
• Building strong relationships with customers and internal teams in the US and Canada
• Monitoring credit risk and managing aged debt
• Supporting month-end processes and reporting where required
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls

About you:

• Proven experience in a senior or standalone Credit Control role
• Confident managing billing as well as collections
• Experience working with international customers, ideally US and Canadian markets
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to deal with stakeholders at all levels
• Well-organised, proactive, and comfortable managing your own workload
• SaaS experience would be highly beneficial, though not essential
