Finance Manager/ Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant – 3-Month Temporary Contract
Hours: Full-time, office-based

We’re looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a small, friendly finance team on a three-month temporary contract. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be supporting the CFO and taking ownership of core financial tasks during a busy period for the business.

The Role:
You’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and managing relationships with key external stakeholders. You’ll also lead a small team and act as the go-to person for all things Sage 200.

Key Responsibilities:

• Line management of two direct reports: Assistant Accountant and Admin Assistant
• Timely production of monthly financial reports
• Manage the year-end audit process
• Submit statutory declarations accurately and on time
• Oversee payroll processing
• Manage day-to-day banking and cash control
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations
• Support the CFO and provide cover when needed
• Play a key role in the budgeting process

What We’re Looking For:

• Qualified or finalist with an accredited accountancy body (e.g. ACCA, CIMA)
• Degree-educated with solid experience in financial reporting
• Comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Strong knowledge of statutory requirements and financial controls
• Good working knowledge of Sage 200 and Excel
• A team player with strong communication skills
• Experience in a manufacturing setting and/or project accounting is an advantage

Other Info:
This role is based on-site, Monday to Friday, and due to the nature of the finance function, flexibility to support the wider team where needed is essential. Paying up to £235 per day.
