Job Description

Payroll Administrator | £30,000 – £33,000 | Full Time | Permanent

Office-based | North Lancashire

I’m recruiting on behalf of a well-established, growing business seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join its finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of payroll within a supportive and collaborative environment. You’ll be joining a close-knit finance team where people genuinely enjoy working together and where your contribution will be recognised from day one. If you’re looking for a varied payroll role where accuracy, organisation and great communication are valued, I’d love to hear from you.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you’ll take responsibility for processing weekly payroll and supporting the smooth running of payroll administration across the business. Working closely with managers and colleagues, you’ll ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time while helping to identify improvements to existing processes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing weekly payroll from start to finish.
  • Validating timesheets and payroll information.
  • Processing starters, leavers and payroll amendments.
  • Managing pension uploads and payroll administration.
  • Producing P11D information.
  • Administering employee benefits.
  • Resolving payroll queries with colleagues across the business.
  • Supporting continuous improvements within the payroll function.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience processing payroll from start to finish.
  • Experience using Sage 50 Payroll.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • A proactive approach and the confidence to work independently.
  • The ability to build positive working relationships across the business.

Experience administering employee benefits would be advantageous but isn’t essential.

What’s on Offer?

  • Salary of £30,000 – £33,000.
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Annual bonus scheme.
  • Life assurance.
  • Casual dress.
  • Supportive finance team.
  • Opportunity to join a growing business with long-term career prospects.

Interviews will be held face to face, and the business is looking to appoint as soon as possible. Notice periods will, of course, be considered.

If you’re an experienced Payroll Administrator looking for your next opportunity, I’d love to hear from you for a confidential discussion.
