Client Manager / Qualified Accountant
Lancaster | Hybrid Working | Paying up to £42,000
Looking for more than just another accountancy practice role?
If you enjoy building relationships with clients, solving complex accounting challenges and being trusted to manage your own portfolio, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
My client is looking for a qualified accountant to join their growing practice. This isn’t a role where you’ll simply prepare accounts all day. You’ll become a trusted adviser to a portfolio of SME clients, helping them navigate everything from year-end accounts and tax planning to HMRC enquiries and business growth.
If you enjoy variety, autonomy and working closely with clients, you’ll feel right at home here.
What will you be doing?
You’ll take ownership of your client portfolio, serving as the first point of contact and building long-term relationships with business owners.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts.
- Advising clients on Corporation Tax, Income Tax, VAT and Capital Gains Tax.
- Completing Self-Assessment Tax Returns.
- Supporting clients through HMRC enquiries and investigations.
- Reviewing work completed by junior members of the team.
- Coaching and mentoring colleagues.
- Attending client meetings, both virtually and face-to-face.
- Identifying ways to improve processes and add value to your clients.
No two days are the same, making this a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with people rather than sitting behind a spreadsheet all day.
About you
You’ll be ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) and have previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
You’ll also have:
- Experience managing your own portfolio of clients.
- Strong accounts and taxation knowledge.
- Previous experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
- Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or FreeAgent.
- Excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional client service.
What’s in it for you?
- Hybrid working.
- A varied and interesting client portfolio.
- Genuine autonomy and responsibility.
- The opportunity to mentor and develop others.
- A supportive leadership team that values your ideas.
- A growing business where your contribution is recognised.
Why join?
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in practice but is looking for more ownership, greater client exposure and the chance to influence the way things are done.
If you’re ready for your next challenge, I’d love to hear from you.
